Project "UN!TE" is a project by Earthpedia Global to be a part of 16 Days of Activism inspired by UN Women.

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day.

The campaign was started by activists at the inauguration of the Women’s Global Leadership Institute in 1991. It continues to be coordinated each year by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership. It is used as an organizing strategy by individuals and organizations around the world to call for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.

In support of this civil society initiative, the United Nations Secretary-General launched in 2008 the campaign UNiTE by 2030 to End Violence against Women, which runs parallel to the 16 Days of Activism.

Our project has several segments such as:

i. Campaign on Good touch Bad touch
ii. Awareness Campaign on gender-based violence
iii. Implementing Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine/ Storage Bank
iv. Sharing Information related to 16 Days of Activism

Project End Period Poverty

Menstrual hygiene management (MHM) is an essential aspect of hygiene for women and adolescent girls. Despite being an important issue concerning women and girls in the menstruating age group MHM is often overlooked. Menstrual hygiene management (MHM) or menstrual health and hygiene refers to access to menstrual hygiene products to absorb or collect the flow of blood during menstruation, privacy to change the materials, and access to facilities to dispose of used menstrual management materials.

In order to this, UNFPA belives in ending period poverty. What is period poverty? Period poverty describes the struggle many low-income women and girls face while trying to afford menstrual products. The term also refers to the increased economic vulnerability women and girls face due the financial burden posed by menstrual supplies.

To follow this, Earthpedia Global has started a project under MHM namely, "End Period Poverty," through which we aim to provide access to free sanitary napkins to 1 million underprivileged women & girls with a focus on tea labourers. We are delighted and honoured to announce that Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh - Upazila Administration, Chunarughat, Habiganj will be collaborating with us in this project. We believe we alone cannot achieve this rather together we can make a change.

Project Sanitary Napkin Distribution to the Flood Affected Women

Earthpedia Global in collaboration with Evolution 360 worked to help the women and girls of Sunamganj, Habiganj, and Sylhet by distributing sanitary napkins for menstrual health hygiene management. It is really difficult for flood-affected women and girls to maintain proper menstrual hygiene during crises, so a packet of sanitary napkins at this time can be a real blessing for them.

We distributed packets of sanitary napkins to households women and girls victimized by the Sunamganj flood. One packet of sanitary napkins cost BDT 50 only.

Project Clothes Distribution to the Flood-Affected People 2022

Earthpedia Global is continuously working for the flood affected people of the Sylhet region either by distributing food packs or by sanitary napkins with women's essentials. This time, Earthpedia Global has came up with a project where 3,000 flood-affected people will receive new clothes. We believe in thinking differently, and so we are here with this thought which others are yet to think.

Project Mukti

'Project Mukti' by Youthpreneur Network has been implemented at Chunarughat Upazilla with the help of Earthpedia Global.

Almost 5000 sanitary napkins has been provided free of cost till today. This time they had given the opportunity to the 20 girls of Chunarughat Upazilla who will be getting free sanitary napkins for the next 6 months (August 2021-January 2022). 20 girls from D.C.P High School got this opportunity. Earthpedia Global is delighted to be a part of this project and hope more girls and women will be receiving this opportunity in the future. Proper sanitation, menstruation and hygiene maintenance is very important to maintain a healthy life.
